I decided to give making watercolor backgrounds for my traditional media a try, so this is a first. :D
This one's effects were created by isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) and and table salt. The salt was rubbed off when the paper dried.

Feel free to use in digital art, but please give credit!

the trick about salt is that it will absorbe a liquid and make amaizing effects.......i love it........but that looks cool.....ive never seen it with watercolor.....only silk paintings.....and those are like watercolors exept thier perminent

Ahh, my favorite colors there.

I don't like working with watercolors too much, though... I always destroy the brushes because I press down too hard (like I do with all kinds of pens).

I have never touched watercolors before this, but I read a tutorial on how to make custom paper. It's amazing how simple it is; all one needs to do is apply wash then apply what they want to use - I used alcohol and salt this time, but I could easily use leaves, petals, or anything. :D

I'll use this for a drawing sometime once I get over my normal art block.
